4. FAQ
Q: Can I switch my boat trailer lights over to LED lighting system when my tow vehicle has incandescent bulbs? Is there anything I have to do special to do this switch?
A:All you have to do is swap the incandescent bulbs with LED replacement assemblies. Your tow vehicle would not have a problem at all with this switch. In fact, it actually would thank you if it could since now the trailer wiring will draw a fraction of the amperage it once did.So an LED taillight kit would come with everything you'd need. New assemblies, wiring and connectors.
Q: I have a trailer with red led lights for stop and turn how can I install Amber as turn and leave the red led For tail light and stop only ?
A:You can add a converter to the trailer wiring to separate the brake and turn signals. You will also need to add an amber turn lights to your trailer.
Q:Can Combination LED Trailer Tail Light be Installed on Either Side of Trailer?
A:You would be totally fine to use the Combination LED Trailer Tail Light on both the driver and passenger side of your trailer. You'd just need to flip it over like you mentioned and you'd be fine. It will function the same installed on either side. The only reason there's a driver and passenger side is that the driver side typically has a license plate light on the bottom of it.
Q:How Do I Convert My Incandescent Trailer Lights to LED Lights?
A:Yes, you just have to remove the old lights, match the wires and mount the new ones. Please note, that it is usually not a good idea to mix LEDs and incandescent lights, so if you have have side markers or other lights on the trailer, make sure you switch those to LEDs as well.
Q:Troubleshooting Trailer Brake Lights Not Working When Tail Lights Are On?
A:It is highly unlikely that the issue is sharing the same LEDs; this sounds like a classic case of a poor ground connection.A bad ground connection can cause issues like this so you'll want to make sure your grounds are securely attached to bare metal surfaces free of any paint, dirt or corrosion of any kind. A ground can also be interrupted if there is anything between the metal trailer frame and the light's ground.
Q:Installing Trailer Lights on a Non-Metal Frame?
A:You can simply connect an extension wire from the ground wire on the light to the trailer's main ground connection or to the metal trailer tongue.
Q:Is this light the same as LIWOLF 87110?
A:No this light is made for like a pop up camper. This is not water Proof. So it’s not like a boat trailer where it can be submerged. I hope that answers your question.
